My concentration explores the spirit animal within a person. I created fashion illustrations that depict the personality of my friends using animal traits taken from a test based on the books The Animal In You and Animal Attraction by Roy Feinson.

My series is about modern gods. I placed the ancient greek gods in a modern context. I created a mix of what we value and venerate today with the values we associate with the old gods.

As my senior year is coming to an end, I decided to create a concentration that focuses on people who have impacted my life.  Each piece is based on a different person, or group of people, who have influenced me, and who played a role in making me the person I am today.

Gabriel Gonzalez | Drawing

My concentration explores the relationship between Mexican "refranes" and the cycle of political corruption in Mexico. Politics and corruption seem to follow an endless cycle of impunity. I feel great indignation for how common and constant this cycle is, plus a connection and accord with the "sayings" that expose it.

Aranza Urrea | Drawing

My concentration expresses the excitement, peacefulness, and connection that I get from participating in the sport of dressage. The pieces included are memories, memoirs of times spent with my loved ones and my horse, “Campo Negro”.

Jackie Galvez | Drawing

I created a series of self portraits that embody my daily life as an evolving, imperfect and determined student. My concentration embodies the idea of being mindful and embracing the little moments although they seem irrelevant, mundane or stressful.

Nowadays, we base every artwork or piece of writing on something we have already seen. I wanted my concentration to focus on what is true originality. To achieve this goal, I blindfolded myself while I worked, and created each piece in my series by forming a lump of clay while I relied purely on my sense of touch.

The focus of my concentration is human anatomy. I was really attracted to the idea of sculpting anatomy because I love the symmetry that the organs and the bones have. The harmony of the art within our human body really brings satisfaction to me.

Ana Paula Ibarra | 3D Design

My series is about how connections affect relationships. When people connect positively to one another, they form bonds that help support each other in any situation. My pieces show this strength and balance through different combinations of ceramic forms and string.

My concentration explores common social issues experienced by teenagers. I made ceramic masks that show each issue through facial expressions, facial characteristics and proportional exaggerations. My hope is that making these issues visible, rather than “masking” them, will bring better understanding of these afflictions.
