IT Specialist, Certificate, 30 credits
The certificate focuses on teaching students the foundation-level skills required to effectively use and troubleshoot computer and information technology systems.
Students completing the certificate program will be prepared for entry-level IT support positions and, in addition, to continue their education in the IT Specialist associate of applied science degree program. Students will complete coursework from the following areas:
General Education courses—communication, computation, and human relations (9 credits).
IT Support Foundation courses—microcomputer operating system and hardware support; computer networking; server operating systems; and computer security (13 credits).
Individual course selections made with a faculty adviser to support the student's career goals and interests (9 credits).
