The Acton Boxborough Regional School District has requirements for drivers of private vehicles when transporting students other than their own children. These guidelines are for the protection of all parties.
1. Drivers must submit a copy of their drivers' license. I can accept photos or scans sent electronically as long as the printed name and expiration date along with the photo are clear and legible (properly lit).
2. Drivers must have a clear CORI record with the ABRHS school district. Forms can be filled out at any AB school main office with a photo ID. The report comes back within 5 - 10 business days and is confidential.
3. Trip coordinator must confirm that the vehicle to be used has enough seat belts for the number of passengers assigned.
4. Drivers must submit a copy of the coverage page of their auto insurance which shows a) the driver is listed on the policy as a covered operator and b) the policy contains at least $250,000/$500,000 of bodily injury liability coverage for the vehicle(s) to be used to transport students. Check with your insurance agent if you have any questions about this coverage.
These guidelines and the associated paperwork need to be submitted one week prior to any trip that you may volunteer for. The school administrator in charge of field trips, Mr. Fred Hohn, will keep the documentation in a secure place for this school year. Unless either your license or auto policy renew before April, you will only need to submit documentation once this year.
Each trip will have a separate driver form which you will need to turn in along with the documentation noted above. Look for the links below by trip.
