In today's world, teens are attached to their devices. They access school online, their friends online, and their information largely online. Keep yourself up to date on current trends so you can effectively help your student responsibly navigate and engage in the online world. Participating in digital communities has both benefits and risks. Be aware of both and work with your student to set guidelines and limitations together.
Commonsensemedia.org is a great place to start. It has some awesome resources for helping you understand current apps, games, and movies, how media usage affects teens, and how you can help your teens with privacy settings etc.
