Are YOU ready for summer with the High Achievers ?
Summer Apprenticeship ProGram
Youth who participate in the program year-round are automatically eligible to apply for the summer apprenticeship program. They are subjected to year-long training in addition to “apprenticeship training.” Cohort members are not guaranteed a position at camp however if they are accepted, they are eligible to earn approximately $500 for participating in the apprenticeship program. The summer program is a 4-week experience where youth will serve in support roles and facilitate an elementary youth camp program or be mentored by and work with a professional at a local business. Participants also may be assigned to a school and teacher to assist with preparing and organizing materials and supplies for the upcoming school year.
College Tours
THE HIGH ACHIEVERS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY THIS SUMMER'S FIRST COLLEGE TOUR WILL BE TO MIDDLE GEORGIA STATE UNIVERSITY AND TO CENTRAL GEORGIA TECHNICAL COLLEGE . THE SECOND COLLEGE TOUR WILL BE TO FLORIDA A&M AND TO FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY. THOSE STUDENTS WHO COMPLETE THE SUMMER APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM ARE ELIGIBLE TO ATTEND THE TOUR AS WELL AS A FUN TRIP THE FUNSTATION IN TALLAHASSEE, FL.
