"Umbridge's Speech"

Cue No. 12 - Umbridge's Speech.mp4

The violas hesitate to start Umbridge’s theme, as if they might get slapped by her if they play it wrong. The harp tries to help them along tentatively. The violins try to start the theme too with the same result. The harp once again tries to come to their aid. We then get a full, sinister, beautiful statement of Professor Umbridge’s theme. As a direct extension of the Ministry of Magic, Umbridge’s theme has strong roots in the Ministry theme. At the end of the full theme statement, the Ministry theme does, in fact, also make an appearance over Hermione’s explanation that “the Ministry is interfering at Hogwarts”. A short Hedwig’s Theme transition plays over the shot of Hogwarts, and goes nearly unfinished as the low strings accompany Harry into a judgmental Gryffindor common room.
