Cue No. 20 - Dance Preparations.mp4

This cue was a perfect opportunity to utilize the classic orchestrations of Hedwig’s Theme. With the theme being a waltz itself, it only felt appropriate to use while the students are being taught to dance. This scene also allows the music to reflect that these students are acting their age and being teenagers. There are alternate orchestrations as the piece continues, and it pauses, pulls back, pushes forward, and grows more dissonant based off of what is taking place on screen. There are very few Potter montages John Williams scored that we could pull from for inspiration, so this cue is one that required some inventing.
