Brandon Haynes

Brandon Haynes is the President of the Toronto Public Library Workers Union, CUPE 4948. His involvement with his union began in 2010 where he has served as union steward and as an Executive Board member, until he was elected in 2019 as his union’s first Black and youngest President. Brandon successfully led the Toronto Public Library Workers in contract negotiations last year, where gains were made in health and safety and equity, including groundbreaking leave care for domestic abuse survivors and for trans-affirming care, and retaining important job security language during the pandemic.

Emma Lee

Emma Lee is an Executive Board member of the Toronto Public Library Workers Union, CUPE 4948. She began her union activism in 2013 when she became a shop steward. Over the past 8 years she has mobilized members and coordinated political campaigns for her own union and with the Toronto and York Region’s Labour Council’s Chinese Workers Network and Women’s Committee, and served on the Toronto Public Library Workers bargaining team during contract negotiations in 2016 and 2020.
