The Charles County SMOB Advisory Council was established during the 2018-2019 School Year by outgoing Student Member, Miss Krisha Patel of Westlake High School. The council was the first official council sponsored by the Student Member in Charles County Public School's history. The council worked heavily throughout the year to develop recommendations to the Student Member and Board of Education on dress code policy within the county.

Since then, under the direction of current Student Member, Mr. DeJuan Woods Jr., the council has been expanded into two (2) new Communications and Special Issues Departments. The council now has designated staffers to address a variety of student issues within the county, such as Mental Health Awareness, Diversity and Inclusion Issues, and Environmental concerns. The council currently includes students from all seven (7) Charles County Public School High Schools.
