Broughs of London and Middlesex, England

During the past four hundred years there have been many "Brough" families who have resided in London and Middlesex, England. A number of these families originated from the central part of England--such as from the counties of Staffordshire, Cheshire and Yorkshire.

One well-known "Brough" family who resided in London during the 1700's and 1800's was headed by Samuel Brough (1770-1837) who was christened in 1770 at St. Bartholomew the Great church in London. Samuel Brough's ancestry goes back to the 1600's in Staffordshire, and is briefly shown below.

William Brough, chr.1744 in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, England; married Mary Price in 1769.

Samuel Brough, chr.1770 in London, England; married Elizabeth Brough in 1793 and Elizabeth Sawtell in 1796.
