Birthdays

Birthday Celebrations When Return to in Person Classes

Birthdays are very special in the Kindergarten. The teachers regard your child’s presence in the kindergarten as a blessing and are grateful for the opportunity to express our appreciation on his or her birthday. Since every child will turn six sometime during their time with us this is the birthday we invite parents to attend. A birthday story is told, songs are sung and we gift the child with a golden silk cape, a felt crown, book of drawings from their peers. Five and seven year birthdays are celebrated with their classmates at the start of the day with birthday songs, lighting a candle and a purple or blue felt crown.

Decorate their Chair

Decorate your child's chair with flowers on their birthday using ivy, floral tape, bud vases and flowers. We still decorate our girl's chairs. This daughter's chair who turned 29 this spring.

Decorate their Birthday Candle

Using decorating wax, that can be purchased at Bee Kind or Art and Soul, bring your child's birthday candle to life. We kept our girls candles when they were young and brought them out each year to light with their new candle.
