Get Involved

Parent involvement in a child's education is crucial and has a significant effect on pupil achievement throughout the years of schooling. Most parents believe that the responsibility for their child's education is shared between parents and the school.

What's the best way for me to stay involved in my child's school activities?

1. At the beginning of the school year, attend our 'Welcome Back' meeting and get to know your child's teacher. Listen to their plans, know what they hope to accomplish with their pupils and understand how you can support at home.

2. Attend school events including parents' evenings and curriculum evenings.

3. Learn what the school offers by reading the information the school sends home.

Volunteer

If you can spare some time, we would love to hear from you. Any support you can give, such as volunteering to hear readers, would be greatly appreciated and it would also give you an idea of how our school works.

Friends Association

Gislingham is supported by a fantastic team of parents and helpers who make up FOGS - the Friends of Gislingham School. They are always keen to welcome new members.

Parents' Forum

Come along to our termly Parents' Forums to share ideas, views, concerns and make suggestions for improvement

Parent Voice

We are very keen that parents are involved in school life. Occasionally there may be problems and, if so, we would like to hear about them immediately so we can look into the situation and hopefully resolve it. Therefore if you have any suggestions for improvements that we could make please email the office. Parents' Forum is also used to increase home/school communication.
