SMSC

We recognise that the personal development of our pupils – spiritually, morally, socially and culturally – plays a significant role in their ability to learn, and to grow into well rounded members of society. We aim to provide an education that provides children with opportunities to explore and develop:

  1. Their own values and beliefs

  2. Spiritual awareness

  3. High standards of personal behaviour

  4. A positive and caring attitude towards other people

  5. An understanding and respect for their and others social and cultural traditions

  6. An appreciation of the diversity and richness of cultures and the world around them

All National Curriculum subjects provide opportunities to promote pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development SMSC across the curriculum .

However, a significant contribution is made by our ethos, effective relationships throughout the school, collective worship, as well as other curriculum and extra curricular activities, see SMSC at Gislingham Primary
