Uniform Guide

Scouts and Scout leaders proudly wear the uniform for all ceremonial and indoor activities including troop meetings, travel to and from troop events, Boards of Review, and Courts of Honor. The uniform should also be worn during special outdoor occasions, such as flag ceremonies, Scout shows, and special times during summer camp.

Scouts will need:

REQUIRED ITEMS

• • • BSA Uniform Shirt with the required insignia and Olive Epaulets

    • Olive Pants or Shorts, you may choose to purchase the uniform pants/shorts, or purchase another brand that works for your Scout

    • Olive BSA web belt with BSA buckle or other BSA belts (i.e. Philmont, Sea Base belt)

    • Scout Handbook with a zippered cover to protect it

    • Merit Badge Sash and Sash Pin

OTHER ITEMS

• • • Hiking shoes are recommended for campouts and other Scouting activities

    • Athletic shoes may be worn to meetings and other events. Shoes must be closed toe.

    • Caps may be worn outdoors however, they should be a Troop 38 cap or BSA design

    • Troop 38 shirt and accessories available through our troop storefront, the storefront opens twice a year for purchases.

*NO gym shorts, sweat pants, camouflage shorts/pants or non scouting hats/caps will be worn with the Class A uniform at any troop meetings or scouting events.
