Camping

Troop 38 maintains an active schedule throughout the year, with camping being one of our main activities.

The troop maintains a set of camping equipment and the Scouts are responsible for its upkeep and proper maintenance.

Troop 38 will provide tents for Scouts to use, Scouts are responsible for taking the tent home, cleaning it and returning in the same condition it was received in so it's ready for the next campout. In the event of rain, the tent should be set up to dry and only packed and returned once it is fully dry. Wet tents can mildew in a very short period of time, Scouts may be required to cover the replacement cost for lost or damaged tents.

Patrols are also provided camp stoves, and cookware to use and for each campout, there will be a designated patrol member responsible for purchasing food based on the menu derived by the Patrol Leader. That patrol member will be reimbursed by the troop following the submission of the receipts to the Troop 38 Treasurer.

Please note that Scouts who make a commitment to a trip will be held accountable for the camping fee associated with the trip regardless of whether they are able to attend the trip or not.
