Scoutbook

If you are new to scouting, or came from a Pack that didn't utilize Scoutbook that's okay we have links to tutorials to help you get started.  If you came from a Pack that utilized Scoutbook, then you are familiar with the system and that's great.  However, when recording items in Scoutbook, we do things a little different when it comes to the Troop.

Parents or Scouts may enter any rank requirements into Scoutbook that have been completed and signed off in the Scout handbook except ranks of Star and Life.  However, the entry you make is only for your use, as the handbook is the official document of record for advancement.

We encourage the use of Scoutbook as it provides access to information you may not always have with you but it also allows you to see what has been processed and approved for the Scout.

For example, when a Scout completes a merit badge and submits the merit badge application for processing, you can go into the system in about 5-7 days to confirm that the merit badge has been processed.

We ask that parents and scouts refrain from marking merit badge or award requirements as complete. Scoutbook has some issues with reporting and should you or your scout mark those items as complete, that may lead to your scout not showing up on a report which would mean we wouldn't have his merit badge or award available at our court of honor.

Only merit badge counselors, using their merit badge counselor access should mark merit badge requirements unless otherwise reported by the Advancement Chair through blue cards or event reports like summer camp.

Awards should be discussed with the Scoutmaster when a scout would like to begin working toward completing the requirements.
