Title: Bards of Trimaris

Author: James Highgate of Darkwater in A.S. XLVI

Not as the fighter, the cleric, or sage,

ward we all well with the turn of a page.

O'er field and o'er hall, do we stand as guards,

singers and soldiers... Trimarian Bards!

The fighters we see upon the lyst field,

know well the blade and the axe and shield.

There stand the bards, too, solid and steady

with a sword and a song held just as ready.

Not as the fighter, the cleric, or sage,

ward we all well with the turn of a page.

O'er field and o'er hall, do we stand as guards,

singers and soldiers... Trimarian Bards!

The cleric and priest, your soul they will mend

but can that so match what the poet can tend?

In stanza and verse, we say what you feel

and raise us all up to our banner's ideal.

Not as the fighter, the cleric, or sage,

ward we all well with the turn of a page.

O'er field and o'er hall, do we stand as guards,

singers and soldiers... Trimarian Bards!

The wisdom of wizards, none can deny,

for knowledge and lore is where such things lie.

But our magic is music to last all our life,

the lute and the lyre, the pipe and the fife.

Not as the fighter, the cleric, or sage,

ward we all well with the turn of a page.

O'er field and o'er hall, do we stand as guards,

singers and soldiers... Trimarian Bards!
