Laureates of Trimaris
The Laureates are the traditional kingdom level bardic competitions of Trimaris. These competitions are held twice a year at the Kingdom events. There are currently three Laureate competitions: Poet Laureate, Troubadour Laureate, and Masque Laureate.
POET LAUREATE
Original poetry performed solo by the author, traditionally held twice a year at Crown Lyst. The subject matter must be either a period theme or an SCA theme. See the Rules of the Laureate Competitions for more information.
TROUBADOUR LAUREATE
Original songs (both melody and lyrics) performed solo by the author, traditionally held twice a year at Coronation. The subject matter must be either a period theme or an SCA theme. See the Rules of the Laureate Competitions for more information.
YOUTH LAUREATE
Solo performance for entrants ages 5-17, traditionally held twice a year at Coronation. The subject matter must be either a period theme or an SCA theme. See the Rules of the Laureate Competitions for more information.
MASQUE LAUREATE.
Traditionally, Masque Laureate is held twice a year, at the Kingdom Arts & Sciences Faires. Group performances are welcome, as are solo performances. Material need not be original. A number of performance options are possible. See the Rules of the Laureate Competitions for more information.
