Novice Level Forms

Novice entries are designed to make it easier, and less intimidating, to begin participating in the Kingdom Arts & Sciences Faires.

Novices should fill out a Novice Documentation Form or Novice Documentation Form- Performance Entries instead of preparing more elaborate documentation.

Novice Entries:

  • First time Art/Sci entrants, early works in a new art or craft, and/or early attempts at the art of documentation
  • Not eligible to count towards Champion of the Arts
  • Eligible to count towards Patron of the Arts
  • Not eligible to be selected as a Gulf Wars Champion
  • Judged on a 40 point scale: 40% (16 pts) for the overall authenticity of the item, 20% (8 pts) for documentation, and 40% (16 pts) for workmanship.
  • Documentation Form and Guide provided

Novice entries count towards your group's total for calculating Patron of the Arts, but are not eligible to count towards an individual's score for calculating Defender/Champion of the Arts & Sciences or to be selected as a Gulf Wars Arts & Sciences Champion.

The Novice Entry Judging Form is provided so that Novice Entrants can see what the judges will be looking for in their entries. This will help you be better prepared for your first Kingdom Arts & Sciences Faire.
