Restaurant Story - Neighbors/Star Rating/Tipping

Updated: 5/27/2012

Neighbors/Star Rating/Tipping:

To go to the Social menu, go to the Main menu (bottom left-hand corner) and then click Social.

The first tab is the Community tab. This is a list of random players. (It is possible for a neighbor to show here.) You can see their restaurant name, level, and Star Rating and choose to visit them. When you visit these people, you can tip up to three times (which increase your own Star Rating). The higher the Star Rating, the more likely they tip back, but it's no guarantee. Some choose to write on the player's Wall, but I personally find that very annoying.

Since tipping community members can be a hit or miss when it comes to getting tips back, the next tab (Neighbors) is a better solution. This is the list of all people who you are neighbors with. The same information found about a community player can be seen here along with a Gift button. (Check out the Gifting section for more information on gifting.) Keep in mind, everyone plays differently so you may have to take notes on how your neighbors play (gifter and tipper, gifter only, tipper only, nothing, dead) to understand what kind of player they are. If you decide you do not like a particular neighbor, at the top, if you click Edit, you can choose to Remove those you do not like. Once a day when you visit a neighbor, you get a bonus of 30 coins or 2 XP. You can do this once a day for each of your neighbor. You can tip neighbors up to six times (which also increases your own Star Rating).

Finally, the last tab (Invite Friends), is where you can find your Storm8 ID to give to others so they can add you. Also, to add a neighbor, type in their Storm8 ID where it says Friend's Storm8 ID. They will show up down below, while you await their acceptance. In the meantime, you can visit them via this page. Once added, they will go into your Neighbors list. TeamLava has NOT implemented a way to remove pending invites. They only disappear if and when the recipient accepts/declines you. Sorry.

Whenever you tip, you raise your Star Rating. Mainly a tipping indicator, it can help you show up more often in the Community list, but has no other benefits.

Tip: One useful way to get neighbors, is to look at people's wall and/or leave your ID on others' walls. Note the date posted when using IDs left on walls. The older the post, the more likely that person has stopped playing.
