OUR HOMETOWN VISION 2040

COMPREHENSIVE PLAN

A Comprehensive Plan, also known as a General Plan or a Master Plan, is a road map to a community's future. Its purpose is to articulate the community's vision, and provide the policies and goals necessary to achieve that vision. The planning process that would become the OUR Hometown Vision 2040 Comprehensive Plan began in October 2016 with the appointment of a seven member citizen action committee. Through the two year endeavor that followed, City staff and the citizen action committee worked with the general public to assemble a plan that would not just address the community's needs over the next 20-years, but that would also grow with the community as it changed over this time period. On December 3, 2018, the City Council adopted the OUR Hometown Vision 2040 Comprehensive Plan.

BROWSE THE PLAN BY ITS GUIDING PRINCIPLES

The OURHometown Vision 2040 Comprehensive Plan was drafted around the nine guiding principles, which are intended to provide a framework for the future of our community. The following links provide a summary of the implementation strategies and the progress of the implementation process associated with each of the guiding principles.

ONLINE VERSION OF THE PLAN

The OURHometown Vision 2040 Comprehensive Plan is a living document that is intended to grow with the community. This means that it will be reviewed and updated on an annual basis for the purpose of accounting for the changes that occur over the course of each year. The online version of the plan is intended to provide the community with transparency, accountability, and a way to track the implementation progress of the plan. It is also intended to improve public participation by providing a place for public feedback through Citizen Surveys and the Contact Us page. The feedback received from the public will be provided to the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee (CPAC) at the time of the annual update.
