First Annual Joint Appalachian Foray

Canaan Valley Resort, Canaan Valley, WV

(*note the change in Foray location from Blackwater to Canaan)

July 28 and 29, 2012

sponsored by:

For years we've been learning from their books and we are excited to announce that Gary Lincoff, Bill Roody and Donna Mitchell will join us during our foray in the Monongahela National Forest. On Saturday, we'll start out with guided walks to collect wild mushrooms and then we'll return to the Canaan Valley Lodge for a wild mushroom cooking demo and tasting, an educational program that Gary will present about wild mushrooms, and a table walk reviewing the mushrooms collected that morning.

Gary Lincoff's new book "The Joy of Foraging" is coming just in time for our forest foraging foray on Sunday! Gary will share tips on searching for and preparing wild edibles and then we will join him on a walk to see what the forest has in store for us that day.
