Meeting Sunday February 23rd

The New River Valley Mushroom Club will be having an indoor event on
Sunday, February 23rd from 2:00-5:00PM (Business Meeting from 1:00-2:00PM for those interested)
in the Blue Ridge Conference Room at Draper Aden Associates in Blacksburg

Bring a dish to share or any other snack/drink. Though some of the foraged wild mushroom dishes were excellent in past years, for everyone's safety and the liability of our group, this year please avoid bringing foraged wild mushrooms, though store-bought mushrooms would be great!
We will give an overview of the information covered during the business meeting. (Dues, future outings and indoor meetings, 3rd Annual Joint Appalachian foray, etc.)
We will watch a video, TBD
We will work on our mushroom identification skills. Bring books, field guides, hand lenses if you have them. We will have some basic collection baskets and tools that we'll discuss for beginners. Becky is the Executive Secretary of the North American Mycological Association (namyco.org) and we are the only NAMA-affiliated club in VA so bring any questions you have about the organization to discuss.
Morel season is approaching and we will talk about how, where, and when to find them!
We'll go out back in the woods, weather and time permitting, and have a look around. Please wear appropriate footwear if you want to do this.
