ENTRY Garden

In 2012 the garden was struggling and not very inviting.  Many of the shrubs looked out of place on the hot, dry, sunny slope.  Those that received some shade were over-grown and misshaped.

A design was created that incorporated native shrubs that would thrive in the sun and heat, and native soil.  The non-native boxwoods remained as a means of comparison to native shrubs.

AFTER -  Summer 2015....  Things look attractive and inviting, and much more care free maintenance.

This slope is toward the end of the building and the 2 photos on the right show the renovation of this area.

The second photo on the right shows pink muhly grass in full bloom is just spectacular!  This is planted at the end of the bed where an overgrown juniper was removed.

While the photo was taken from the side, rather than front (before)With the addition of some rock and annuals, we now have a garden bed that makes you smile.  If you look at the rock carefully, it appears as if the head of a bird is rising from the garden.  Rise of the phoenix perhaps??
