The Marshall Native Gardens started taking form after a strategic plan and the above Conceptual Master Plan was completed in 2011 -- this was fully coordination with the Library Director.  There are currently 11 themed native demonstration gardens that comprise the Marshall Native Gardens.

Over the past decade, MNGI members have designed and implemented many native plant demonstration gardens, with the help of many sponsors and collaborators.  Graphic examples of these detailed garden are shown in the next section of our webpage where noteworthy native plants are explored.

Recent garden projects include finishing up the Bird Garden, native plantings in the Woodland Shade Garden, & expanding and improving the Shrub Garden.  We are excited to have a couple new garden champion (i.e., garden champions are folks who have volunteered to oversee development and maintenance of a specific garden) :  We are pleased that Jessie Howard is now our Medicinal Garden champion,  Rotary Club of Madison County is the champion of the Bird Garden, and Madison County Garden Club is the champion of our Butterfly GardenThese champions are skilled and experienced and are doing a great job of helping MNGI to improve, maintain, and interpret their garden...
