Koran claims that western map shows "Mer du Coree" on Sea of Japan area. Checking the D'anville map, disclosed in the

They wrote Mer du Coree on the position of east coast of Corean peninsula, but it is not the center position of sea of Japan so they mentioned to wrote it as the area ,"east coast of Korean peninsula".

During the 1720-1780s, The name related to "Corea" e.g. Sea of Corea or Corean sea dominates the name around Sea of japan, but the recognization is not so concrete because some map shows it is just a east coast of Corean peninsula area, some shows center of Sea of Japan position, Some wrote both Corean Sea around east coast area and Japan sea at the center postition of Sea of Japan. There are those three type of the naming pattern, it shows the name of Corean sea hadn't established as the concrete hydrographical name concept .
