RFFS/ARFF response time assessment tool

This tool provides an estimate of the RFFS/ARFF response time for planning purpose (e.g. alternative comparison for a new RFFS station, or impact assessment of construction work changing the preferred RFFS route to the runways). It shall not be used for operational purpose.

The reference text of this document is the 8th edition of Annex 14 of the Chicago Convention. In other countries, it is necessary to inquire with the National Aviation Authority any differences with the Chicago Convention and its Annexes as declared to the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). Some national regulations are mentioned for information purpose - for instance the U.S. CFR Title 14 Part 139 which features different requirements than ICAO's. The response time is a universal RFF concept. Consequently, this tool should be compatible with any regulatory framework as long as the path to evaluate is compliant with this framework.
