According to Curtis Lasell (MGG 2) written by Heinrich Baltzer Wedemann (1646–1718), student of Franciscus Schaumkell (ca 1590–1676).

Arnfried Edler (Der Nordelbische Organist. Kassel 1982, 239, footnote 63) called Wedemann's signature on the inside of the front cover "certainly only a possession remark" ("sicher nur ein Besitzvermerk" and mentions three possible scrbes: Christian Flor, Gottfried Hudemann, or P. Morhard – all three of them active in Lüneburg. The identification of the scribe by Lasell, however, is nowadays also accepted – cf. Hans Davidsson: Matthias Weckmann. (Stockholm 1991, p. 30).
