Welcome!

Greetings from FraGnBraG!

Here you'll find details and screenshots of my Unreal Tournament Level Design projects and current works in progress, including download links for released maps. Nothing too fancy here, just a simple way to get the picture about FraGnBraG maps! Enjoy your stay and - for those folks that still like to play the old game on occasion - happy fragging!

What A Long Strange Trip It's Been...

Here are all the Unreal Tournament projects I've been occupied with since 2001 when I started mapping for UT99, grouped and organized in a (hopefully) meaningful way :) When I call this a "long strange trip", well, that pretty much sums it up!

Many of the map projects had their beginnings in Unreal Playground mapping contests, while others were made for community map-packs, such as the Timewarp Crew FoT packs and the CTC volumes. Some of these maps were completed slowly over a number of years, while others took mere hours.

Site Organization

Maps are organized into game type pages, with each map listed on the page linking to an individual details page containing a description, an image gallery, sometimes notes or history details. These game type pages are ordered by release date, newest to oldest. Each map has one or more download links. You can click on the map name link to view the detail page.

Note that a Map packs page is also included along with the game types, and this list presents the community map packs where I was a team member or one of the contributing authors. Note that some packs are included here for completeness of the collection - even though they might not contain any maps by me :)

NOTE: The left side menu (or pop-out menu, if mobile) is also available for site navigation. The menu is hierarchical and expands to list the map detail pages. These pages are unfortunately unsorted.

Downloads

The download link(s) are only included on the list pages. This is to ensure I do not go insane :P One download link page is a lot easier to update when links go stale. Many of my maps have been around long enough that there are already several download locations that can be found easily using Google.

Each map and associated content is packaged into a single ZIP archive. Map information, credits, and installation instructions are always found in the ReadMe document included in the ZIP file.

RECENT MAP RELEASES

UT CAPTURE THE FLAG

Large layout supports 8-16 players - Normal weapons

Bioshock themed CTF set in the underwater city of Rapture! This map pretty much reached the geometry limits of the UE1 engine, but runs amazingly well! Remember, in the Bioshock realities, there is always a Lighthouse... so, yep!

BETA1 - Released January 2020.

UT CAPTURE THE FLAG

Large layout supports 8-16 players - Normal weapons.

This is my UT CTF conversion of the DMU conversion of the Unreal map DM-ClusterFuck created by Jeremy "Faceless" Graves. The DMU converison was done by Unreal/UT mapper Lightning Hunter as part of the UTClassicPack][ map pack. I highly recommend UT Classic Packs by Hellscrag and Lightning Hunter (3 packs) to anyone interested in Unreal history - there are many gems in these packs you will not be disappointed. I used the DM as as a base, added middle area connectivity and placements, adjusted path network and lighting and base markings for CTF. The final result is crazy fun gameplay!

FINAL - Released September 15 2019.

UT CAPTURE THE FLAG

UT DOMINATION

Large 3 Control Point layout supports 12-24 players - Features UTR XPickups.

UT CAPTURE THE FLAG

Large layout supports 10-24 players - Features UTR XPickups.

CTF in a Rusty Industrial processing plant. Based on CTF-6H-BigAndRusty which I made for "King Mango's 6-hour challenge" contest held at UP Sep 2003. Scaled the thing down 50% to make CTF-FNB-Rusty and Rusty2.

FINAL - Released October 2018.

UT DOMINATION

Large 4 Control Point layout supports 12-20 players - Normal weapons.

DOM set in an Ancient Mayan Island Temple. Contains a few hidden areas. Started life as an AS map but converted it to DOM.

BETA - Released October 2018

Download from MediaFire

UT MONSTER HUNT

Large layout supports up to 10 players- Normal weapons.

Monster Hunt set in a Sci-Fi Fantasy World. Originally designed as an AS temple complex incorporating several sections, the map grew stupidly huge as sections were added. Split the map in two to simplify things. This map is part 1.

BETA2 - Released January 2017

Download from MediaFire

UT MONSTER HUNT

Large layout supports up to 10 players - Normal weapons.

This is essentially a copy of the Orions Curse Part1 assault map, converted and tested for the MonsterHunt game type. Seems to work pretty well except for some bugginess - hence the ALPHA designation. Warning: The final battle sometimes craps out (triggers get messed up), so play at your own risk!

ALPHA1 - Released April 2015

Download from MediaFire
