Seeking Knowledge

Looking for information on using wikis to facilitate learning? I was so I created a custom search engine that searches sites bookmarked by the E-Learning for Educators Diigo group in the fall of 2011. The Diigo group itself is an excellent resource.

I also uses Diigo in my history teaching, and I have created and maintain a list on the idea of "uncovering" history. "Uncoverage" is a constructivist notion of history education that views students as active uncoverers and creators of historical knowledge. Recently, as a member of my district's World History Curriculum Writing Committee, I curated a list of resources for thinking about World History as a discipline.

In E-Learning for Educators I also completed a self-paced information fluency unit and demonstrated Information Fluency in November, 2011. Information fluency is a critical 21st century skill, as this is an information soaked age. Such fluency is particularly important in history, a discipline which is based on the use and the evaluation of information as evidence to support conclusions
