Educ 762: Assessment in E-Learning

In my final reflective blog post for Assessment in E-Learning I noted that the course "deepened my understanding of e-learning [and] stimulated...reflection on assessment in my f2f history classes." This class also exposed me to more tools that I have since used to help students to construct historical information, especially wikis, blogging, and surveys.

Moreover, my final project for this class brought together the major strands of my emerging educational practice--e-learning and constructivism. Students in this project construct historical knowledge about the Haitian Revolution using primary source accounts of Toussaint L'Ouverture. Forum discussions and collaborative writing on a wiki allow students to learn from each other as they articulate their historical interpretations.
