4:15 Coaches/Scratch Meeting

4:30 Start Long Jump, Triple Jump, Shot and Discus Throws

4:45 Start High Jump and Pole Vault

PRELIMINARIES & FINALS

A. Long Jump - 4:30 Flight 1. 3 preliminary trials; top 10 to finals. Flight 2 follows

B. Triple Jump - 4:30 Flight 1. Same as long jump.

C. Discus - 3 flights. Flight 1, 2, 3; top 10 to finals

D. Shot Put - 3 flights. Opposite of discus

E. High Jump (start 5'7 - 2" till 6'3, then 1") 1 Flight

F. Pole Vault (9'3" till 13'3”, then 3") 1 Flight

NOTE: All pole vault contestants are required to wear safety style helmets.

5:30 - ALL PRELIMINARIES - 4 heats of 9, heat winners plus next best 5 times to finals

A. 100 M Dash – same as above

B. 110M High Hurdles – same as above

C. Heat 1 – 3200 M Run

D. Big Boy 100 M Dash (must weigh 200#) - same as above

E. 200 M Dash - same as above

6:45 P.M. FINALS FOR ALL RUNNING EVENTS BEGIN (Time Schedule is Approximate)

6:45 Frosh-Soph Medley - 2 heats (200-200-400-800, yellow exchanges)

6:50 3200 M Relay - 2 heats (alleys) green (3 scratches, go 1 heat)

7:00 400 M Relay - 2 heats (yellow exchanges)

7:25 3200 M Run - Heat 2 (alleys) green (First heat in prelim, approx. 6:15)

7:40 110 M High Hurdles - Final

7:55 100 M Dash - Final

8:05 Big Boy Hundred (must weigh 200#) - Final

8:10 800 M Dash - 3 heats (alleys)

8:15 800 M Relay - 2 heats (black l & 2, yellow 3) Lane all way

8:25 400 M Dash - 4 heats (yellow, lanes all way)

8:30 300 M Intermediate Hurdles - 4 heats (green stagger)

9:00 1600 M Run - 3 heats (alleys) green

9:15 200 M Dash - Final (green staggers)

9:30 1600 M Relay - 2 heats (3 turn stagger) blue

PLEASE NOTE – We will be using a FAT system and online entry system this year.

FACILITIES:

A. Track & Runways

  • Red, all-weather track - 9 lanes
  • Starting blocks will be provided
  • Spikes, 1/4 " or shorter
  • Please note pole vault helmet rule and please have 2 available workers

B. Shot & Discus - Cement Slabs

C. Locker Rooms - None provided

D. Restrooms - Outdoor portables near track

E. School Building - Athletes SHOULD NOT ENTER school building.

F. Concessions - Concessions stand near track

G. Team Areas

Please have teams set up camp in bleachers or anywhere outside the track fence. No camps allowed inside the track or football field.

H. Dick Pond shoes will be here selling products.

ENTRIES:

  1. Two (2) entries per school, per event. One relay team.
  2. We will be having at large competitors this year.

AWARDS: Medals for 1st thru 8th. Team plaques for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

SCORING: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1

ADULT WORKERS: Each school must provide 2 adult workers.

ADMISSION: $4.00 Adults, $2.00 Students with ID. Only students with track uniforms will be admitted free.

PROGRAMS: Will be sold at gate for $1.00

RESULTS: We will have meet results ready a few minutes after the meet is over.

SCRATCHES & SUBSTITUTIONS: Please make scratches in the storage garage as you enter track when you arrive. Substitutions may be made for sick or injured athletes with a letter from your school administrator. No changes will be made after 4:30 p.m.

RELAY CARDS: Relay cards should be filled out and presented to the clerk of the course at the marshaling area when athletes report.

RULES: All National Federation rules will be followed.

UNIFORMS: IHSA guidelines will be strictly enforced.

TWO-MINUTE LIMITATIONS - will be used in all field events. A contestant shall be charged with an unsuccessful attempt if he does not complete his trial or indicate passing it within two minutes after Name is called.

TEN-MINUTE BETWEEN TRIALS: a competitor excused to compete in another event shall have a maximum of ten minutes between trials.

PRELIMINARY TIME SCHEDULE (Tentative)

4:30 Preliminaries in the Long Jump and Triple Jump begin. Finals in Long Jump follow directly after 3 Flights, followed by Finals in Triple Jump.

4:30 Preliminaries in Shot Put, Discus begin. Finals to follow directly after 3 Flights of discus, followed by Shot Put Finals.

4:45 High Jump and Pole Vault start.

5:30 Semi-Finals in the 100 M, 110 M High Hurdles, Heat 1 3200 M Run, Big Boy Hundred, and 200 M dashes begin. 4 heats – heat winners, plus the next 5 fastest times to finals.

Semi-Finals

To start at 5:30 and run as rapidly as is practical in following order. (We do not know how fast this will go, meet finals at 6:45 sharp.)

100 M Dash - 4 heats – heat winners plus next 5 fastest times to finals.

110 M High Hurdles - 4 heats – same as above

Heat 1 - 3200 M Run - On time (of 2 heats)

Big Boy Hundred (must weigh 200#) - 4 heats – same as above

200 M Dash - 4 heats – same as above
