XTT

XTT is a technical illustration drawing tool for AutoCAD. It converts 2D AutoCAD entities into isometric entities.

INTRODUCTION

Before

After

Command: XTT
Enter conversion angle in degree [30/45/60/120/135/150] <45>:

You can select from 6 different isometric view angles, the default conversion angle is 45 degree.

Select base point:

Pick up a point as the base point.

Select objects:

Valid object types are: Line, Arc, Circle, Dimension, Block, Leader, MultiLeader, Point, Lwpolyline, Solid, Text and Mtext

The result is similar as display in an isometric view with some varieties as below:

  1. Lines, Polylines, Solids, Leaders, and MultiLeaders are transformed as same as viewed from an isometric angle;

  2. Arcs, Circles, Points, Blocks are simply moved to new position based on their centre/insert point, no transform made to object itself;

  3. Text, Mtext, Linear Dimensions are moved and rotate, but the text font is not transformed as an italic font as shown in an isometric view; (See note 1)

  4. Diameter and Radius Dimensions are moved to new position and the dimension figure keeps unchanged.

  5. Arc segments in a polyline remain as arcs after conversion, but in a real isometric view, they should be eclipse arcs.

  6. It doesn't affect annotative objects.

NOTES

  • After conversion, the length of vertical and horizontal dimensions remains as unchanged, but length of aligned dimensions is different from the original length, so be careful to transform aligned dimensions which is neither vertical nor horizontal. In the example illustration, the 80-unit-long dimension marked as "DIMALIGNED" is increased to 101.58 units after the conversion.

TRIAL VERSION LIMITS

  • Objects can be converted at one time in the trial version is limited to 5.
