QRB
Quickly Rename Block by click it.
INTRODUCTION
The traditional way to rename a block is to find out its name first, then use command "rename". But sometimes, copy and "paste as blocks" creates some meaningless block names such as "A$C423F4B3F". It is hard to find out which name belongs to which block. Now with QRB, you can skip the ineffective rename dialogue and quickly rename selected block by entering a new name.
Command: QRB
Select a block:
Select any block in the drawing.
The old block name is: "xxx"
In the Edit Mtext dialogue box, enter a new valid block name, see note below for more information about valid block name.
Selected block has been renamed to: "yyy"
It prompts the new block name if renaming is successful.
NOTES
The new block name must be valid AutoCAD block names:
When system variable "extnames" is 0, the valid block name is as R14 format, ie. the length of block name must be less than 32 characters and only A-Z, a-z(which will be converted to A-Z by AutoCAD), 0-9, and the special characters dollar sign ($), underscore (_), and hyphen (-);
When system variable "extnames" is 1, which is default in most current AutoCAD versions, the length of block name must be less than 256 characters and the following characters are not allowed: " \ < > / ? : ; * | , = ` ".
It doesn't work in the block editor.
In the "Edit Mtext" dialogue box, please do not use the "Full editor..." button.
