More teeth! More smiles!

Xander helps Dad compose a tune

Article originally posted April 24, 2007

Xander marked his half-birthday on April 4 and has come a long way in his first six months. He now has 8 teeth - four top, four bottom - is trying out so-called solid food (strained peas, yum!) and likes his new high chair. The teeth help give him that grown-up-looking smile.

"He's getting better at sitting up," his mom, Marie, said on April 24. "He can play with toys for a short time before he topples."

"He's always very pleased with himself when he's sitting," Marie said in an earlier report.

Those of us who have been parents know how exciting it is to see the rapid changes in those early years. "One day he can't do something, then the next day it's like he's always been doing it," Marie said.

Xander enjoys going with mom to the Regal Ribbons shop a couple of days a week, where he has his own play space but also enjoys watching dad and mom at work. And, as the photo above shows, he enjoys relaxing with his folks at home as well. Marie took the photo of Xander with Brian at the keyboard of a piano that's in the process of being restored.

A busy day means a good night's sleep too. "He sleeps through the night most nights so we're all getting enough rest," Marie said. "He sleeps in on the weekends, too - it's so cute."

Just to recap: Brian and Marie moved back to California in February along with young Alexander. They found a very nice duplex rental in Morgan Hill, not far from Marie's family and the office/shop of the family-run personalized ribbon and favors business.
