Cynthia Richardson

AIA Seattle President 1994-95

Early in her architectural career, Cynthia Richardson (UW MArch 1978) worked with Jane Hastings and Carolyn Geise  in one of Seattle's pioneer woman-owned design firms.  She went on to work in other Seattle-area firms and to serve (1994-95) as Director of Environmental Works non-profit community design center before establishing her independent practice in Anacortes.  She served on the Anacortes City Council 2002-2014.

During her term on the Board and as President, AIA Seattle planned & observed the 100th anniversary of its 1894 founding, including a range of programs highlighting a century of activities by local architects, a MOHAI exhibit "Blueprints: 100 Years of Seattle Architecture," and publication of Shaping Seattle Architecture:  A Guide to the Architects.
