Sian Roberts FAIA

Throughout her career, Sian (Doty) Roberts has explored and furthered an integrated approach to architectural practice. Her work consistently demonstrates design excellence achieved through a cooperative, interdisciplinary process.Sian Roberts FAIA earned a BS in physics from Haverford College in 1986 and an MArch from the University of Washington in 1992. She joined Miller Hull in 1993. The AIA College of Fellows elevated Sian in 2014.

She has led design teams on civic, educational and infrastructure projects throughout the Northwest. From her first days in practice, Roberts committed herself to improving the design process demonstrating that a better process leads to better design results. Through the use of a variety of delivery and contracting methods, she has developed and shared techniques to drive high-performing design and construction teams. Her projects have received awards not only for design, but also for the innovative use of BIM and excellence in design-build.

Sian has served on the boards of the Seattle Architecture Foundation, AIA Seattle, and on the Washington State Licensing Board for Architects.

With Miller Hull, she has worked as partner-in-charge for the Seattle South Transfer Station, and the renovation of Odegaard Undergraduate Library at the University of Washington, which has won both AIA Seattle and AIA National Honor Awards, as well as ALA AIA Library Interior Design and SCUP Excellence in Design Awards.
