Visual Arts At YHS

"Yreka High School is dedicated to providing a supportive and engaging environment encouraging all students to learn, be creative, and discover their individual potential. We strive to inspire students to be resilient and persevere to fulfil their postsecondary goals while promoting intellectual, social and personal growth."

Classes will:

develop divergent thinking skills, provide exposure to a variety of mediums and the Elements & Principles of design, teach & refine technical skills, allow students to personally investigate & visually expess ideas, provide visual problems to "solve" , build knowledge around Art History,  Art Movements, & Aesthetics, teach students to maturely discuss & critique artwork, build craftsmanship & patience, practice presenting, build a portfolio, build relationships, connect to our community, and foster personal growth.
