Art I is an introductory course designed to expose students to a wide variety of media, techniques, and art history! By indirectly learning the elements & principles of design students will create small & large compositions. A “traveling sketchbook” will house several smaller assignments to build foundational skills in drawing, creative thinking, & reflection. We will utilize group critique to discuss artworks and students will "grade themselves" on thier effort & execution on works based on a detailed rubric for each artwork. We will complete a "Warm-Up" most days of class, often times related to observation drawing.
