Welcome to Art II! In this class we will build on the foundations learned in Art I. We will complete two advanced and tedious drawings (shoe to scale & grid method portrait). This class will push students to see how realistic artwork is constructed and composed. We will also experiment with a variety of techniques. Advanced maturity is required for this class and keeping up if you miss class will be important. Some drawing assignments are 4-6 weeks long. We will complete a "Warm-Up" most days of class, often times related to observation drawing.
Art II will display their top two best executed works at the Miner Showcase Art Walk
All works should be matted or framed for presentation. (Mr. Chismar will have mat board and will help you mat prior to the show). Art will be set up the day before and the day of the Miner Showcase. Extra Credit is offered for students who hang out and help visitors see/understand the artworks during the Miner Showcase.
