Flight Test Prep Academy

Welcome to Flight Test Prep Academy. Established in 2007 as Aviation Summer Camp, our family run business has grown into a flight school with eight planes. Currently, our fleet includes newer aircraft including Cessna 172s which are both 'round gauges' as well as G1000 with flight director. We include two 1982 Cessna 152s of which one is an Aerobat. All of our planes have added safety features that include ADSB In and ADSB Out. 

The best way to learn to fly an airplane is through a combination of ground school instruction and flight training. Ground school typically involves classroom instruction on the theory of flight, navigation, and meteorology, as well as training on the systems and procedures of the specific type of aircraft you will be flying. Flight training involves hands-on training with a certified flight instructor in a real aircraft, where you will learn the skills needed to fly and navigate the aircraft safely. It is important to find a reputable flight school and flight instructor that is certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to ensure that you receive high-quality training. Additionally, it is important to be prepared for the financial commitment required for flight training, as it can be expensive.

Our course work is designed to be efficient with your time and the cost of flight training. We begin with quality ground school that incorporates simulators before you get to the plane. This reduces the cost and time needed to get the licence. While others are taking 70 hours to get their students finished we are working towards 45-50 hours of time. Well below the national average. 

Spring 2023 Flight Academies

Ground Schools

Additionally, we offer ground schools which cover the content for the private, instrument and commercial knowledge exams. Interested? Add your information on this form as well. START HERE. Our private pilot ground school runs continuously on Tuesday evenings.
