Here is the standard definition from Wikipedia: "A screencast is a digital recording of computer screen output, also known as a video screen capture, often containing audio narration. The term screencast compares with the related term screenshot; whereas screenshot generates a single picture of a computer screen, a screencast is essentially a movie of the changes over time that a user sees on a computer screen, enhanced with audio narration." (accessed on July 3, 2019) . The part that is the easiest and provides the best synopsis is "a movie of changes over time that a user sees on a computer screen." Often when working and interacting online, people need to illustrate, demonstrate, teach, etc. by walking people through what is on a screen. The three videos below and the resources at the end of this page I hope will enable you to make your own screencast for whatever purpose or functions makes sense to you!
Before accessing the videos try to think of what you might need to record for another person in your life. Here are some examples of ways I have used it in the past:

This is a super brief video launching you to try to use this in either a professional or personal manner. How can you use screencasting to accomplish a particular goal or objectie?
