Annual Procedures

Elementary Procedures

Beginning of Year:

  1. Determine TST calendar dates and times for the upcoming school year

  1. Identify grade level team coaches

  1. Schedule Follow-up TST meetings from the previous school year (e.g. students retained, currently in tier 3 MTSS intervention, students identified with a Developmental Delay, etc...)

  1. Share the list of students currently in TST with teachers or teach them how to access this information in EDIS.

  1. Schedule and provide staff training to review MTSS / TST procedures

  1. Plan for ongoing staff training through the school year as needed by each school (e.g. EDIS, problem-solving, interventions, etc...)


During the Year:

  1. Conduct staff training throughout the school year as needed

  1. Review Early Warning Signs (EWS) and ensure interventions are in place for students with two or more indicators.

  1. Spring – TST completes SAM Assessment


End of Year Closeout procedures:

  1. Identify 5th grade risers and alert middle schools. Make sure that TST folders are sent to the middle schools.

  2. Update MTSS Action Plan for the following school year.



Secondary Procedures

Beginning of Year:

  1. Determine / Schedule dates for:

a.3 times per year EWS report review

b. Monthly PLC Meetings for grade level and/or subject area data review (to include the structure and expectation for these meetings)

  1. Designate MTSS Champion(s) for school year

  1. Update school resource map

  1. Identify grade level team and/or department coaches to facilitate MTSS PLC meetings.

  1. Schedule follow-up TST meetings from previous school year

  1. Staff training to review MTSS / TST procedures

  1. Plan for ongoing staff training throughout the school year (e.g. EDIS updates, problem-solving, interventions, flexible grouping, etc...)


During the Year:

  1. Conduct staff training throughout the school year as needed

  1. Review Early Warning Signs (EWS) and ensure interventions are in place for students with two or more indicators (3x year).

  1. Work collaboratively to input interventions into EDIS

  1. Spring – TST completes SAM assessment

  1. Middle school identifies 8th grade risers and alert high schools. Make sure that TST folders are sent to the high schools.

  1. Update MTSS action plan for following school year
