The Annual Volleyball Tournament was held on December 17th this year. There were 16 total teams and it was a fight to get into the playoffs. Without the West Newton Warlocks in the competition, it was exciting to see who else would come out on top this year. The winning team – who dominated throughout the day – was Roddy Wave Elite. Congratulations on your win! After talking with Mrs. Roddy, she stated, “I expected the team that won was going to win.” It was a group of dominant athletes; Raidon Kuroda, Joey Weinhoffer, Nathaniel Bell, Addison Seanor, Ella Hixson, Olivia Singer, and Brea King. After seeing the winning team, the teachers were nervous for the game held on the half-day before winter break. After asking what he was thinking before the game, Mr. Cannizzaro commented, “Don’t get hurt, don’t embarrass yourself, and try to make a few good plays.” Despite their effort – and some assistance from the judges – the teachers still lost their matches against the students. That makes three years in a row where the students have won! A much deserved thank you goes to Mrs. Roddy and Mr. Craze for organizing the tournament, offering their classroom for the day, and their effort to ensure the day went smoothly.
