Timeless Tales: Four Stories, One Stage
Written by Julie Shuber
For the first time in the history of Yough Senior High School, Yough’s Drama Department presented their first originally written play for their fall season. Brandon Keselyak and Julie Shuber co-wrote Timeless Tales, a play about four unique stories throughout history narrated by two historians. Dolley Madison’s bravery, Abraham Lincoln at the prime of presidency, the final moments of the Titanic, and the battle of the Suffragettes were all stories the audiences not only experienced, but also learned about. Kyla Yencik directed the play; along with writing it, Brandon Keselyak was also assistant director. Co-writer, Julie Shuber (senior), also took a role as student stage manager. Helming the titles of the two historians — Dr. Taylor and Dr. River — were Savanna Stants (senior) and Bella Maroney (freshman). Our ten main characters include Bella Castiglione (senior) as Dolley Madison, Rowan Taylor (freshman) as Abraham Lincoln, Josh Hall (senior) and McCartney Nader (sophomore) as Jack Phillips and Harold Bride, and Hailey Whalen (sophomore) and Chloe Buchko (sophomore) as Christabel Pankhurst and Nora Stanton Barney. The rest of the cast includes the talents of Ava Dietz (sophomore), Ryeley Ellsworth (freshman), Elijah Frischolz (senior), Mandi Gerdich (freshman), Crystal Hosey (junior), Aliie King (freshman), Brody Spell (freshman), and Billy Spell (junior). For the 2025 spring musical, the Drama Department will present Grease! Come see the cast March 28-30!
