Set up to receive Text Reminds from YHS guidance. Follow these steps: 1. Login to Remind through ClassLink on your Chromebooks first. 2. If it is the first time you login, you will receive a prompt to add your cell phone number. 3. You will receive a confirmation code to your phone. 4. Download the remind app and login.

Academic support
There are several ways to obtain academic support at Yorktown High School.
Period 9 support: schedule a meeting with your teacher to meet with them after school for academic support.
YHS Library: Student members of the National Honor Society (NHS) are stationed in the library most periods and offer assistance to our students. The NHS advisor also provides a list of students who may tutor after school hours.
AIS (Academic Intervention Support): See your counselor and discuss with your teacher to see whether skills support for a specific academic area is available to add to your schedule.

Visit the College Planning section on our webpage for additional links and information. In junior year, you and your counselor will schedule a college search & post secondary planning meeting. PSATs are offered in your Junior year of high school. The best preparation for your future plans is to remain involved in activities that are meaningful to you and maintain strong grades in high school.

Absences: If you are absent from school, please contact the attendance office and view your teacher web pages and Google Classroom to obtain homework assignments. Please email teachers with questions.

Summer plans/activities:
Summer activities may include volunteering, shadowing a professional in the community, obtaining summer employment and/or a summer precollege course to explore interests. Please note: these outside courses do not appear on your high school transcript.
