High School Planning
Freshman course directory: link for 8th grade students to select courses available to our incoming ninth graders
Course directory for grades 10-12: See link on our home page. Full year courses may be added within the first 2 weeks of school and dropped before the end of the 1st quarter, without notation on a student's transcript.

Academic help: In addition to meeting with your teachers period 9, did you know that members of the National Honor Society (NHS) provide tutoring in the high school library throughout the school day? Stop by and look for the NHS table with the blue tablecloth. Our school also offers skills support in different academic areas scheduled into your school day. Meet with your counselor to discuss.
Husker Discovery: freshman course preparing students for high school and beyond. Visit the school and community resources link as well.
Science research link: Starts in sophomore year. Interested students must apply to this program in their freshman year to be admitted in tenth grade. See science research webpage for deadline.
Use Classlink to access your student portal which includes your schedule, report card, teacher gradebook, google classroom, google drive, school email account, naviance, and other school links. Parents must sign the Responsible Use for technology Policy (RUP) agreement each year in order for students to access their student portal.
Set up to receive Text Reminds from YHS guidance. Follow these steps: 1. Login to Remind through ClassLink on your Chromebooks first. 2. If it is the first time you login, you will receive a prompt to add your cell phone number. 3. You will receive a confirmation code to your phone. 4. Download the remind app and login.

Community service
Community Service Office -pre-approval must go through the Community Service office. Confirm hours directly through their office only. See Community service frequently asked questions. Please reach out to mmero@yorktown.org if you have questions about your hours.
High school Athletic Department
High School Sports: YHS Athletic Dept. provides registration, sports schedule, letters and links

Academic Support
Period 9 support: schedule a meeting with your teacher to meet with them after school for academic support.
YHS Library: Member of the National Honor Society are stationed in the library most periods and offer assistance to our students. The NHS advisor also provides a list of students who may tutor after school hours.
Skills support: See your counselor and discuss with your teacher to see whether skills support for a specific academic area is available to add to your schedule.
Writing Center: Visit the writing center for help with reviewing an essay, paper, research you are working on for a class.
Technology support
YHS Library: Students who need assistance with their school issued chromebook or login information, visit the Yorktown High School Library Media Center for help.
YCSD Family Technology Support Form Help Desk: Complete and submit this form to obtain tech assistance if working remotely from home. Visit the high school library if you are in the high school building for chrome book related questions.
