Find Your Voice!

It is often said that non-atheletes only make use of 10% of their lung capacity, but it is less often remarked that in everyday life we only use a small fraction of the extraordinary sonic capabilities of our own voices. We’re taught the ‘right’ way to speak and the ‘right’ ways to sing but there is so much more our voices can do, so many sounds to explore, such a variety of new ways to express ourselves!

This is a workshop for everyone who is curious to discover what their voice is capable of. In a friendly and supportive environment, led by celebrated vocal practitioner Loré Lixenberg, the York New Music Weekend 'Find Your Voice’ workshop invites you to a delightful exploration of your own infinite world of vocal sounds, exploring modes of communication through your vocal possibilities via breath and bodywork to release your voice potential.

30 places available. The workshop is open to all levels and abilities, with teenage children welcome with an accompanying adult.
