Readmission following module withdrawal or failure

Should you fail the module requirements, fail to submit, or withdraw before you were failed, it may be possible to repeat the module at a later date.

You would be advised to discuss your case in the first instance with the relevant admissions team (Continuing Professional Development dohs-ssprd@york.ac.uk or Postgraduate dohs-pg-enquiries@york.ac.uk). Applications will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

The Department’s Board of Studies/Postgraduate Teaching Committee retains the right of veto over all recommendations made. Ultimately re-admission approval rests with University Special Cases who would need to be satisfied, amongst other criteria, that the circumstances that led to the withdrawal or failure had been resolved, and that a returning student would not be at an advantage over other students.

Students should note that there is no guarantee of re-admission and this is usually only successful in exceptional cases.
