Purpose:
To explore a variety of mark-making with the brush tool, along with a variety of techniques to create a digital landscape painting;
To practice using the tablet and stylus with Adobe Photoshop;
To create works of art that use different subjects, themes, symbols, and images;
Demonstrate increasing level of competence in use in the elements of art and principle of design to create a digital landscape (line, color, shape, form, texture; unity, variety, contrast, movement, emphasis, and balance).
The process that I used to complete this project was simple yet demanding. First I sketched in my notebook a rough outline of what I wanted my landscape to look like. After that, I moved into photoshop to add the base colors of the major areas. Once this was done I focused on adding details to those base colors to really bring them to life. And finally, I made sure everything was in place and looked decent.
Throughout this project, I have learned that you need to be creative and just have fun while making your art. Try to take up all the space that you are given on a canvas and make it your own. During my art, I got addicted to this one-leaf brush. It helped me accomplish what I was going for but looking back after I could have added more variety.
